Scholarship Program
The Otsego Memorial Hospital Foundation (OMHF) annually accepts applications in April for healthcare scholarships to be awarded each June by the Foundation Board of Directors.
The OMH Foundation scholarship program was developed to enable the Foundation to provide valuable assistance to individuals pursuing a career in healthcare, and to perpetuate awareness of the various career opportunities within the healthcare industry.
OMHF offers the scholarships to encourage students in the OMH service area to consider a career in healthcare in Gaylord.
The scholarships are open to students of all ages who reside in the Hospital's service area (Atlanta, Elmira, Frederic, Gaylord, Lewiston, Vanderbilt, Waters and Wolverine). To qualify for the Foundation scholarship, an individual must meet the scholarship criteria and have proof of acceptance in a healthcare field of study at an accredited college or university.
The Foundation's Scholarship Committee reviews the applications and makes its recommendation to the Foundation's Board of Directors in May. The Foundation has traditionally awarded between $1,000 and $3,000 in scholarships, although the amount will vary each year.
