Giving Opportunities

“In Otsego Memorial Hospital I see a hospital that is actively supported by the community and in turn is making every effort to meet the healthcare needs of the community.” — OMH Internal Medicine Physician

The mission of the Otsego Memorial Hospital Foundation is to provide a comprehensive program of fund development that supports the mission and vision of Otsego Memorial Hospital.

The OMH Foundation offers a variety of opportunities to support Otsego Memorial Hospital with your financial Gifts:

Otsego Memorial Society
Hippocrates Society
Types of Gifts
Special Campaigns

OMH Foundation is charged with raising support to fund the tangible items, what you touch, feel, see, and hear at OMH, all of which facilitate your intangible healthcare experiences at OMH, the ones you can't quite put into words.

Special Campaigns

In addition to these on-going programs, the Foundation organizes special events and campaigns, which generate funds to benefit Otsego Memorial Hospital.

In 2004, the Growing with the Community Capital Campaign raised more than 1.4 million dollars to support the renovation and expansion of the Hospital and its services.

In 2007, the Foundation raised more than $300,000 to support the Oncology and Infusion Center Renovation Project.

Currently, the Foundation is raising support and awareness for vital equipment upgrades in more than seven departments within the Hospital. For a detailed listing of 2011 funding priorities, please contact Christie Perdue, Foundation Director at (989) 731-2342.

Types of Gifts

Charitable Gift Annuities (CGA) are a planned giving vehicle, which create an annual income for the donor and long-term planned support for Otsego Memorial Hospital. CGAs offer higher annuity rates than normal annuities or CDs, provide multiple tax benefits for donors, and allow the Foundation to immediately recognize the donor in the Foundation's Legacy Society for their generous contribution.

Honorary Gifts are an opportunity to remember a friend or relative on a special occasion, or to thank your doctor or healthcare worker by a contribution in his or her honor. Your good wishes are passed on with a specially designed letter. The amount of your contribution is kept confidential.

Planned Gifts such as annuities, insurance policies, bequests and trusts have many financial advantages. Names of those making such gifts are listed permanently on the Legacy Society plaque in the Hospital's main lobby.

Memorial Gifts become a lasting tribute to a deceased friend or relative. His or her name is permanently added to the Gift Registry in the main lobby of Otsego Memorial Hospital. Families receive notification of your gift; however, the amount of your contribution is kept confidential.

Hippocrates Society

The Hippocrates Society is a special giving society designed to recognize physicians who give to the Hospital Foundation annually and the many dedicated patients who give a gift in honor of their physician.

Otsego Memorial Society

The OMH Foundation recognizes all annual gifts to the Hospital. Each Otsego Memorial Society member is recognized quarterly in the Hospital magazine, Otsego Health & Life, in the Gift Registry in the Hospital Main lobby, and on the Website. The society offers three convenient levels of giving:

Circle of Friends recognizes annual gifts of $50 to $499. Gifts in this range are recognized annually in the OMH Foundation Gift Registry in the Hospital Main Lobby and listed quarterly in the Hospital magazine, Otsego Health & Life. Additionally, your Circle of Friends membership provides a subscription to the Hospital magazine.

Employee Circle of Friends recognizes OMH Employees who have contributed through payroll deduction or by direct cash contributions.  The Employee Campaign is held annually at the beginning of each year.

Good Samaritan Society recognizes annual gifts of $500 to $999. Members of this society receive all of the above-mentioned benefits, plus an invitation to the annual OMH Foundation Donor Thank You Reception.

Cornerstone Society recognizes annual gifts of $1,000 or more. Members of this society receive all of the above-mentioned benefits, plus invitations to additional special Hospital and Foundation events, and special quarterly recognition.

All of the above pledges can be made in monthly or quarterly instsallments.

Once your cumulative giving reaches $2,500, your name is permanently listed on the marble donor recognition wall in the OMH Main Lobby. As your giving increases, you attain membership in our elite giving clubs.
