Patient Financial Assistance
Otsego Memorial Hospital assists customers with their financial obligations whenever possible by estimating financial liability, accepting payment and helping to make appropriate payment arrangements or by evaluating for financial assistance.
Your obligation for payment for healthcare services becomes effective when the service is scheduled or at the point of registration (depending on when liability can be identified). All customers receiving treatment at Otsego Memorial Hospital are responsible for paying in full all charges for such treatment, less any amounts determined to be eligible for financial assistance, discount consideration, or insurance coverage.
An attempt will be made to collect known patient liability and prior outstanding patient liability prior to admission or at the point of service, within the limitations of any third party agreement.
If you are unable to pay your estimated liability at the point of service you may be referred to a Financial Advocate, who will assess your eligibility for alternative funding sources. If you do not qualify for alternative funding sources, and cannot meet your financial obligations in full, a Financial Advocate will explain other payment options.
In all instances, emergency services will be provided, regardless of the patient’s ability to pay,
in full compliance with all of the rules and regulations of EMTALA.
