Otsego Memorial Hospital is proud to offer a complete and multi-disciplined professional Rehabilitation Team to meet the needs of our community. Services include Physical, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology; Certified Wound Care, and Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation. We maintain the newest rehabilitation department with state of the art modalities, intervention and equipment. Our Rehabilitation Team has the highest combined level of experience and an all professional staff to help you achieve your treatment goals.

Our goal is to provide superior customer service and quality of care during your rehabilitation in any of our settings to include in-patient stay on our medical unit, long term care at McReynolds Hall skilled nursing center or for any of your outpatient therapy needs. Understand that when you are a patient at of OMH Rehabilitation Services, you will receive personalized one on one care. We will listen and work with you to identify your treatment goals; we will help you map out a plan to achieve those goals quickly, professionally and personally.

Our staff is specially trained and have more than 75 years combined experience. Whether you or someone you love needs rehabilitation services such as sports medicine, neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, wound care, and hand therapy, speech or cognitive retraining therapy or cardiac pulmonary services; our caring professional therapists at OMH are “…Here to be your Champion for Better Health.”
We feature the easy access professional grade “HydroWorx” Hydrotherapy pool with treadmill, mock apartment, Cardiac-Pulmonary Rehabilitation area; OMH is the only Speech Easy provider in Northern Michigan and also offer “Vital Stim” for speech patients. We are also one of three facilities in the state of Michigan who offer and are a preferred provider of the “Graston Technique” to heal soft tissue injuries’ more quickly and effectively than traditional methods. Lastly we offer a convenient dedicated parking area for our patients close to the department.

Rehabilitation Services Department includes Physical and Occupational Therapy, Speech Language pathology, Wound Care services, and Cardiac-Pulmonary Therapy. We work together as a team under the guidance of a single Director to meet the goals of our valued customers. You have the right to choose where you go for therapy.   • Cardiac / Pulmonary Rehabilitation

    The Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation staff is comprised of Registered Nurses, exercise specialists/physiologists, and EKG technicians under medical direction. Both offer individualized assessment, education, exercise, and behavior modification techniques in a controlled environment, and under medical direction to either patients with chronic lung disease or to patients with specific cardiac conditions. The Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation service is comprised of three different phases. Please contact us for more information regarding the three phase system.

    Our Physical Therapy department is staffed with the best, highly skilled therapists with specialties in many aspects of rehabilitative care. Our Clinicians are extensively trained in aquatic, neurological, manual and orthopedic rehabilitation. We offer services for outpatient, inpatients, and sub-acute rehabilitation for OMH’s award-winning skilled nursing facility, McReynold’s Hall.

    Otsego Memorials’ Physical Therapy department offers content imagethe industry’s newest and most innovative treatment methods to get you back to your best. This includes the highly effective Hydroworx® Therapy Pool complete with adjustable resistance water jets, a treadmill and video system to help visualize your balance and walking mechanics while exercising. Aquatic therapy is beneficial to not only post-surgical orthopedic patients, but patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury and many other conditions. We offer many other treatment interventions and work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan to fit you and your condition.   • Occupational Therapy

    (7 days/week for McReynolds Hall residents and inpatients)

    Our OT department focuses on aspects of returning patients to the maximum level of independence through graded activities of daily living via supervised interventions in our mock apartment – ensuring patient safety with activities of daily living prior to being discharged to their home environment.

    We provide proficient treatment of pathological conditions resulting from trauma, disease, and congenital or acquired deformity. We will assist to promote goals of prevention, function, restoration of function and/or reversal of progression of pathology in order to enhance quality of life for those with upper quadrant disease or injury.

    We have capabilities to custom fit orthotics to the upper extremity with static or dynamic splints, evaluate need for advanced custom seating and necessity for manual or power wheelchairs, and assess home safety and accessibility including recommendation for adaptive equipment or home modifications to promote maximum independence and assist our patients back to a full and productive life.

  • Speech Therapy

    Our Speech/Language Pathologist, Faith Brinkman, offers rehabilitative care services for those with speech difficulties and impairments, and other disorders related to speech and swallowing, as well as cognitive retraining.

    Brinkman is the only certified provider of SpeechEasy devices in Northern Michigan. This device improves speech fluency for people who stutter.

    Otsego Memorial Hospital also provides a comprehensive wound care therapy for patients who have wounds that require special attention to improve the healing process. Our certified wound care registered nurse uses the most up to date techniques to help you or your loved one’s wound heal as quickly and painlessly as possible.

    This service has made huge advancements over the past several years and staying up to date is our priority to ensure you receive the best care. We use the most innovative and up to date treatment products available and assist you in understanding the healing process. Our caring and professional staff is here to help you through this difficult time and return you back to optimal health. We provide services to outpatients, inpatients and McReynolds Hall residents. Additionally, we offer flexible hours of operation to accommodate you.
